Churu Chicken Recipe

I have a new favorite dish: churu chicken.
Meowm bakes me some chicken, shreds it, and mixes it up with a churu, and it is delicious!

Pet food is questionable at times, even the fresh raw stuff. We ordered raw pet food once and it arrived rotten. Besides, we have a Google Alert set up for “pet food recall” to ensure I’m never eating anything contaminated and most of the recalls are on raw food.

Meowm is not totally opposed to raw food, but it is something probably better prepared fresh. Making fresh food for pets is tricky because we need a lot of vitamins and nutrients in the right doses, and pre-packaged pet food gets that right. However, we also need to eat fresh and real food sometimes. That is where churu chicken comes in!

Churu Chicken Recipe

Ingredients:

Fresh baked chicken tenders or breast (baked not boiled so it doesn’t lose its nutrients). For fully cooked, make sure it is at 165 degrees Fahrenheit in the center.

Fork (or fingers!) for shredding

1 Churu tube (or your wet treat of choice) [Churus have 6 calories each]

Directions:

  1. Shred about 2 oz of fresh baked chicken using a fork or your fingers
  2. Squeeze a Churu tube on top (or your favorite wet treat)
  3. Mix the Churu into the chicken so that each shred is coated
  4. Enjoy!

You might say, “why don’t you skip the churu and just eat the chimkin?” Many with pets know the answer: because then I won’t eat the chicken! Now with this as my regular lunch, I am getting real fresh meat every day.

The question is how to cut back on the treats and lose weight??
